Schleswig-Holstein Wind Industry Day

Strong impetus for the energy transition

Wind energy is a key location factor for Schleswig-Holstein and this was the subject of intense discussion at the Wind Industry Day in Husum.

Our Managing Director Ulf Hahn was also part of the panel discussion on the potential of wind power for business and industry. In dialogue with representatives from politics, business and the industry, it became clear how closely security of supply, competitiveness, investment and location development are linked. The expansion of renewable energies is therefore not only relevant in terms of energy policy, but is also a decisive competitive factor for companies and regions.

Diverse perspectives on the podium

Minister Tobias Goldschmidt, State Secretary Julia Carstens, Bärbel Heidebroek, President of the German Wind Energy Association, Ralph Seifert from dataR GmbH and Steffen Volk from Clean Energy Valley Schleswig-Holstein were representative of the large number of panellists and speakers.

The focus was on these topics

  • Reliable political framework conditions for further expansion
  • Grid expansion and an efficient infrastructure
  • Investment security for companies and projects
  • better integration of renewable energies into the electricity system
  • Wind power as an important competitive factor for business and industry

Opportunities for innovation and regional value creation

The discussions in Husum have once again shown the potential that a strong renewable energy supply harbours for companies, innovation and regional value creation. The growing attractiveness of the location for energy-intensive companies opens up additional development opportunities for all regions.

Prospects for Stormarn

This is also an important topic for the future of Stormarn. With regard to the car depot planned by E-Projekt-Hammoor GmbH, a subsidiary of WAS, the aim is to utilise green electricity produced directly on site in future not only for the operation of the car depot and the fast-charging stations, but also for other commercial settlements in the vicinity of the development.

Thanks for the exchange

We would like to thank the organisers ee-hub and the German Wind Energy Association as well as all participants for the open and practical exchange in Husum.
