Artificial intelligence as a driver of digital transformation
Review: WAS practice forum at Getriebebau Nord in Bargteheide
With over 60 participants, the WAS practice forum on the topic of "Artificial intelligence as a driver of digital transformation" was fully booked. The event was hosted by Getriebebau NORD GmbH & Co. KG in Bargteheide, where it was organised jointly with WTSH - Wirtschaftsförderung und Technologietransfer Schleswig-Holstein GmbH.
The focus was on the question of how companies can already use artificial intelligence in a meaningful way today - and how the exchange of ideas helps to learn from each other.
- Welcome
The event was opened by our Managing Director Ulf Hahn. In his welcome address, he emphasised the importance of artificial intelligence for the competitiveness of companies in Stormarn and stressed the importance of knowledge transfer and networking between business and science. With this impulse, he led into an afternoon full of practical examples, discussions and dialogue.
- Insights from the field
Getriebebau NORD: Jens Paulsen, Claus Menzel and Marcus Jensen presented the company-wide AI strategy. Practical examples from production, customer service and marketing illustrated the wide range of possible applications. Particularly exciting: a controversial exchange on the opportunities and limitations of the technology.
Stern-Wywiol Gruppe: Dr Marius Biedebach presented how an internationally active medium-sized company systematically combines AI strategies with overarching transformation goals and professional change management. He shared valuable lessons learnt as well as an outlook on the next steps.
- Interactive formats and dialogue
After a networking break, the event continued in small groups:
In the workshop of the AI Transfer Hub Schleswig-Holstein, led by Eike Zimmermann, the participants used problem maps to identify specific AI use cases. It became clear that companies of all sizes - from craft businesses to corporations - are confronted with similar challenges.
Peer Biskup from the WTSH presented funding opportunities and gave impulses on how companies can further develop their innovation projects in a targeted manner.
The event concluded with open discussion tables, where numerous new contacts, ideas and opportunities for cooperation were generated.
- Summary
The practical forum showed that artificial intelligence is no longer a topic for the future, but already offers concrete opportunities for companies in the Stormarn district today. The intensive dialogue made it clear how great the potential is when business, innovation and knowledge transfer come together.
Special thanks go to all speakers, guests and partners, the WTSH for the close cooperation and the team from Getriebebau NORD for the excellent organisation and hospitality.
