As a do & think tank, we deal with innovation and future topics in order to sustainably strengthen the competitiveness of the selected companies. We are also dedicated to providing a needs-orientated extracurricular education programme to meet the pressing requirements of the economy.

First steps of the network
The IT'S STORMARN network was founded by the Stormarn District Economic Development Agency (WAS) to promote cooperation and knowledge sharing between companies in the region. The aim was to create a platform on which companies can share their experience and knowledge in order to jointly develop innovative projects and strengthen the region's competitiveness.

August
1st knowledge meeting
The kick-off event of our network took place at the end of August with employees from all partner companies at the vocational school of the Stormarn district in Ahrensburg. The topics of talent development, innovation and sustainable competitiveness were discussed in a workshop. The aim was to generate initial impetus and ideas for possible projects that could strengthen our region and reduce innovation gaps. Two topics were identified as the first individual projects and have since been driven forward by the network - "Utilising opportunities together and developing AI potential" and "Additional learning opportunities in afternoon schooling".

July
2nd knowledge meeting
The 2nd knowledge meeting of the Think & Do Tank IT'S STORMARN took place at one of the partner companies, Basler AG, in Ahrensburg. The topic was "AI in practice - optimising workflows". In five exciting AI use case pitches, employees from the companies showed how AI is already being used in IT'S STORMARN companies and which applications can be transferred to other companies. After analysing the feedback, the topic of "Developing an AI-based chatbot" was narrowed down and will be discussed further in subsequent workshops.

"AI-based chatbots" in the network
At the start of the project, the AI project group agreed to focus on the development of an AI-based chatbot for the human resources sector. In the first two workshops - at Basler AG and the Stern Wywiol Gruppe - the first steps in the areas of analysis and design have already been successfully implemented. The next four workshops will focus on the development, testing, integration and evaluation of the chatbot.

March
Further development of the HR chatbots
Workshops 3 and 4 focussed on the further development of HR chatbots and the development of initial prototypes. At TOPMOTIVE in January, the project partners discussed progress and best practices, while ALLERGOPHARMA provided the stage for the presentation of the first prototypes in March. It became clear how essential close coordination between IT and HR managers is in order to develop smart AI solutions in the HR sector. The next workshop will focus on selecting the pilot projects that are to enter the implementation phase. It remains exciting!
