Forum of German Economic Development Organisations 2024 - An inspiring exchange for the future

We returned from two intensive days at the Forum of German Economic Development Organisations (FdW) in Frankfurt am Main with many new ideas and fresh perspectives. The event provided us with valuable opportunities to discuss current challenges and innovative approaches for the future of business development.

Under the motto "Shaping the future, strengthening the ability to act", we focussed on forward-looking topics such as the use of generative AI and the strategic further development of commercial sites. The presentation by Prof Dr Christian Stummeyer was particularly impressive as he highlighted the far-reaching potential of generative AI for the economy. Equally enriching were the innovative impulses from Dr Olaf Arndt, who presented concrete approaches for the sustainable and future-proof development of commercial spaces.

An emotional highlight was the farewell to Thomas Hammann, whose visionary work as Chairman for many years has left its mark on business development throughout Germany.

We are taking the insights gained from this exchange with us to further expand the economic strength of the Stormarn district, one of the most dynamic locations in the HanseBelt region. As an economic development agency, we are committed to strengthening the district's attractiveness and innovative power in the long term and making the region even more visible as a central business location in the north.
