Sparkasse Holstein donates 1 million euros to the district for start-up centre
Sparkasse Holstein received a special gift to mark its 200th anniversary: 1 million euros each for social and economic projects in Ostholstein and Stormarn.
The construction of a hospice is planned in the district of Ostholstein. In Stormarn, Sparkasse Holstein is supporting the regional innovation and start-up centre planned by our business development department (draft photo). At the handover ceremony, Thomas Piehl, Chairman of the Sparkasse's Management Board, emphasised: "We promote small and medium-sized businesses and support start-ups in the region. With our contribution, we would like to drive forward the realisation of the innovation and start-up centre in Stormarn."
The centre, planned for the Beimoor Süd industrial estate in Ahrensburg, will offer 2,500 m² of office space for young companies, flexible event rooms and sustainable construction methods. The aim is to bundle start-up activities and offer support to young and established companies in the growth phase. With modern, technically well-equipped rooms, the centre will be a meeting place for networking, training and innovation.
The sustainable building concept includes timber constructions, green roofs and photovoltaics. A mobility hub will increase accessibility by public transport. The project is estimated to cost around 9 million euros in total.
The Stormarn GIZ will not only strengthen the business location, but will also serve as a modern, sustainable centre for innovation and collaboration.
Thank you very much for this great support and congratulations on the 200th anniversary!
