Stormarn - an important part of the region
Stormarn is part of the Hamburg metropolitan region, which is one of the most dynamic and competitive in Germany and Europe. With a population of 5.3 million people, the region is a melting pot of cultures and a hub of European connections between Scandinavia, Western, Eastern and Southern Europe.

Strong co-operation
Covering an area of approx. 28,500 km², this region comprises 17 districts, three independent cities and the city of Hamburg. The four federal states of Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, supported by various local authorities, chambers of industry and commerce and social partners, are jointly responsible for this co-operation. The successful cooperation is also reflected in the joint development of the GEFIS commercial property portal.
