"Last mile" mobility in the business park - How can we make Bad Oldesloe an even more attractive location?
We recently organised an exclusive business breakfast in cooperation with the city of Bad Oldesloe on the topic of "The last mile - mobility in the business park" at the Amazon distribution centre in Bad Oldesloe. Around 30 participants from the Sandkamp/Rögen/B.O.-Südost industrial estates discussed the problems associated with this section of the journey from the last public transport stop to the workplace. Potential for future-orientated mobility in the Oldesloe industrial estates was identified and innovative solutions developed to make it easier for employees to switch from private vehicles to public transport.
Mayor Lembke welcomed the participants together with our Managing Director, Ulf Hahn, and explained the city's options with regard to mobility. The reactivation of the railway track in the Sandkamp industrial estate and the possible extension of public transport from the railway station to the Sandkamp industrial estate and an extension to the Rögen area opposite with the planned expansion were also discussed. A bus route currently runs every half hour during office hours in the industrial estates. However, there is a current challenge for employees who work in shifts. Although public transport planning is the responsibility of the Stormarn district, companies that see potential in adapting the connections are encouraged to submit their suggestions to the town of Bad Oldesloe.
Daniel Eberhard from Amazon Deutschland N8 Transport GmbH then reported on mobility management within the company to increase the attractiveness of the site: employees are picked up and taken to the site by shuttle buses, job bikes are offered and four e-charging stations are available for free charging. Internal car pools can be formed via an employee app.
We would like to thank you for your hospitality at the Amazon distribution centre, which we were able to visit at the end of the business breakfast. It was extremely interesting and informative! Special thanks also go to our colleagues at the Bad Oldesloe business development centre for their great cooperation!
