What began as a small ice cream parlour in Bargteheide is now a real success story from Stormarn: Elvis Eis has developed into a brand with a wide reach thanks to its passion, high quality standards and entrepreneurial courage.

During a company visit, our Managing Director Ulf Hahn and our colleague Sven Römer spoke with Elvis Bogicevic, one of the two Managing Directors of Elvis Eis, about the development of the company, further growth prospects, the opportunities in the Hansebelt and the dialogue between schools and business. It quickly became clear that if you want to grow, you not only need good products, but also good prospects.

Pragmatism and courage as success factors

An attitude characterised by pragmatism, courage and drive has been particularly influential in the development of Elvis Eis. Elvis Bogicevic put it succinctly in the interview: "And if something doesn't work out, then we just do something else." It is precisely this attitude that has decisively shaped the company along the way.

New paths in challenging times

The importance of entrepreneurial flexibility was particularly evident during the coronavirus period. When the ice cream parlours had to close temporarily, Elvis Eis consistently looked for new ways and found them in retail sales. This enabled the company to establish a successful alternative and further develop its own brand.

Growth with a strong regional base

Today, Elvis Eis in Bargteheide employs around 40 people in production and 35 people in the ice cream parlours - and the trend continues to grow. This is a strong signal for Stormarn as a business location and an impressive example of how a good idea can lead to sustainable growth. At the same time, the company is also committed to the region beyond its own economic success: as a member of the Hansebelt, Elvis Eis is committed to strengthening the location, thereby sending an important signal for regional solidarity and joint growth.

Successful beyond the region

The fact that Elvis Eis is not only growing regionally and nationwide, but is now also supplying retailers in Austria, impressively emphasises this development. The company shows how a brand with a wide reach can emerge from Stormarn.
