Reinbek - Haidland extension

The economic structure of the town of Reinbek is characterised by a wide variety of sectors and company sizes. The location offers excellent growth prospects for small innovative start-ups, medium-sized owner-managed companies, hidden champions and international players.

Together with WAS, the city of Reinbek is planning to expand the Reinbek-Haidland industrial estate as part of development plan no. 118. The aim of this expansion is to further increase the attractiveness of the location, particularly for existing Reinbek companies, but also for a small number of selected new companies, and to actively contribute to the economic development of the business location.

As part of an early public participation process, interested citizens as well as relevant associations and authorities were able to contribute to the initial planning. As soon as the formal authorisation procedures have been completed, development can begin and new commercial sites in Reinbek can be offered for sale to interested companies in the medium term.

Location and zoning

The expansion of the existing Reinbek-Haidland industrial estate between Sachsenwaldstrasse in the south and Bummerei in the north comprises around 10.0 hectares of net commercial space to the east. The exact area boundaries were defined as part of development plan no. 118.

The infrastructure of the industrial estate is excellent. Reinbek is part of the Hamburg metropolitan region and is around 20 km from Hamburg city centre. The port of Hamburg and Fuhlsbüttel Airport can be reached in a very short time thanks to the connection to the Hamburg transport network, but also by car. The location is characterised by excellent supra-regional transport connections to the Baltic Sea region, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe via Berlin. The A24 motorway is 3 km away and offers transport routes to Berlin as well as via the K80 to the A1 towards Lübeck harbour and the A20 to Rostock.
