Choice of Stormarn

Young town in the countryside

On the outskirts of the city of Hamburg, Glinde, the “young town in the countryside”, is continuously expanding its range of cultural, leisure, recreational and shopping facilities for its approximately 18,150 inhabitants at the south of Stormarn. Attractive business location Glinde: Global companies that are firmly rooted in the region make the most of its locational advantages, namely excellent links to the Autobahn network and the Hamburg local network. Glinde is located in the south of Schleswig-Holstein, in the district of Stormarn, and on the eastern edge of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. From here, you’re within fast reach of areas like Sachsenwald, but you’re also not far from the Baltic coast and you can be in the centre of Hamburg in 20 minutes. The Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV) and the Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg Holstein (VHH) operate several bus lines that connect Glinde with the Hamburg metropolitan area and the neighbouring regions. The national transport links are also attractive. There is direct access to the A 24 Hamburg-Berlin motorway and A 1 (AS Reinbek/Glinde/Barsbüttel) via the K 80 district road. The Hanseatic City of Hamburg with its airport and seaport can be reached in a short time. Glinde is home to around 1,270 retail and commercial enterprises of various branches. The young business park on the former depot of the German Armed Forces links residential and commercial sites and access to all infrastructures that are important for trade.
